Besides aliens, does anyone know how the picture with the moon and earth happened? It has not been photo-shopped. Other than better color, it has not been altered in any way.. I think I know, but looking for confirmation.

The earth blocks all direct light from hitting the moon. However, light that hits the earth's atmosphere at the edges gets bent and hits the moon. The blue light gets scattered. So, most of the light is longer red wavelengths.
