I’m really struggling to pick out tile for my spa.

Here’s what we have:

PebbleTec Blue Surf
Coping Keystone Antico Onyx
Waterline Tile NPT Coral Blue

Originally we picked NPT Equinox Aurora Multicolor 2x2 for the outer part of the spa and a Noble Tile 1x1 for the spa waterline and spillway but I saw photos of it later and realized it wasn’t the color we thought it was.

I really wanted to do the whole spa in 1x2 Equinox Aurora Multi but the PB says it won’t look good because the color won’t show as much because of all the grout. I haven’t seen too many spas done in 2x2 so I’m not sure how it will look. We are going for a very geometric modern look, so I don’t want the spa to look dated.

Any thoughts?

When you say "do the whole spa" do you mean all of the sides, bottom, etc?

I LOVE that tile but don't think the 1x2 will work on that much curve. 1x1 would be better. You can get different colored grout so not sure why the PB said that.............I am betting he does not want to pay the labor bill for that much work as it will be a LOT of extra labor and the places where it meets from the bottom and sides will be VERY hard to do.

Oh well then..............that tile should work great! BUT if the installers don't like to install it or such as that you could be asking for trouble "making " them do it. I sure hope that is not the case.

He says he’ll do it if we want, it’s an extra $800 so I don’t think he’s too mad!

I just really haven’t seen to many spas done in 2x2, and trust me, I’ve looked. I like the way the 1x2 looks, I also like the 1x1. He said something about the amount of grout obscuring the colors, but I was planning a darker grout to make it look like one big piece anyway.
