Riverside, CA - Backyard Overhaul

It's really interesting to talk with this guy since everything is on such a large scale. He said the most frustrating thing is to lose a bid on a $25M project by $5k

Yeah, those guys get to play with the big-boy Tonka Trucks....brumm-rumm, brumm-rumm...beep-beep-beep-beep...BRUMMMMMM....

Knife anchors but wrong execution... Is that stainless on the fireplace?

Yeah, it’s stainless as best I can tell and it was not recently cleaned, definitely had soot marks up the front.

Do tell about the anchors? We’d all love a course in Basic Construction Techniques 101 by Professor Davis and his lab assistant, Wanger ...

The concrete bases should have gone up to the standoff plate under the post....it looks odd like it was an afterthought :suspect:

I got the deck in today and it sure feels good to have that behind me

We had to do some creative tenting this morning to handle the rain runoff from the patio roof:

Luckily the weather decided to cooperate

Good Lord that’s a TON of concrete  and to get it all smooth and level like that. Pros indeed.

Were there any screwups in the cuts at all? Did you have to use any adult language??

I think the Romans used less concrete building the Colosseum .... but they were able to flood it and have mock Naval battles so that’s pretty cool.

Shoot, this is nothing. There's a pool build going in Orange County right now that was over 225 yards of SHOTCRETE alone! And its a homeowner's pool - not commercial

The stone gets delivered Monday and installation should begin that morning.

I made a mistake installing the BBQ that I'm not ready to talk about right now....:(:(:( I think :kim: might have jinxed me

B??? But I LOVES you!!! I not jinxed yous!!! Is it something a  could fix or will it have to be redone? I am sorry  There it is all better! A hug and sorry fixes everything!

Kim (kind of glad I am way over here so I cannot see B's sad face)
