Installed a new pressure gauge purchased from TFtestkits. Pressure seems to flex between 13 to 15. Is this normal? Backwash when pressure rises above 15. 50% of the time pressure is 15 then it will drop 1 or 2 points.

How long can a solar cover be left on the pool each day? The "pool store" people always said the cover must be removed in order for the chemicals to breathe. Just wondering. Thanks.

When shutting down the pool at end of season last year noticed a hairline crack in the skimmer housing which was leaking. Have seen older posts recommending either Silicone RTV or 3M 5200 Marine sealant to seal crack instead of replacing skimmer unit. Is this still correct information?

Yes I do backwash but rise in pressure returns. Sand was changed out early summer at end of bacqua conversion.

Getting the hang of testing after doing a bacqua conversion. Test results were: FC 5 CC 0 CYA 32 PH +8 Acid demand took 2 drops CH 250 TA 225 TA is really high but do I need to worry about it? Thinking all I need right now to the lower PH. Thanks for your help! Love this site!!!

Good luck to you. FYI we did get the sand out of our steps. I read somewhere that a guy filled PVC pipe and capped the ends and then zip tied them to the step. We are going to give it a try. I never want to have to do that again but with a TFP we should never have to!!!

So if I read this correctly I don't test for CYA for a week after adding and just maintain FC of 15. Still not sure when to start testing for CC. When is the pool safe for swimming. I'm ready!!!!
