    Variable Speed Pump Suggestion

Not sure about other brands. I don't even know where to buy a Jandy pump to install myself, you won't find any online sellers.

    Variable Speed Pump Suggestion

https://www.poolsupply4less.com/Century-EVQ225-p/evq225.htm https://www.inyopools.com/Products/00200017088726.htm Replacing the motor is more difficult than replacing the entire pump, and only the motor will have a warranty. Not sure about the rebate, they likely require the entire pump be...

    Variable Speed Pump Suggestion

Get the Jandy ePump for maximum compatibility (same manufacturer). The wet end is identical to the Jandy Stealth, so you won't need to re-plumb anything. You are correct about needing the additional RS-485 4-wire cable. If tight on cash, you can also consider replacing the motor with a VGreen EVO.

pH took a nosedive after too much muriatic acid

I guess my thinking is that if my fill water has calcium, then CH will constantly go up as water evaporates and is replace by fill water. We don't swim in the pool much so I don't know how much splashout there will be. And adding calcium chloride doesn't seem too expensive. Agreed, my CYA is...

pH took a nosedive after too much muriatic acid

Poolmath log share enabled. I started taking over my pool on Jul 30th. The test from May was reported by my pool guy. What do you think about staying with softened water and adding calcium chloride? I tested CYA after adding some two weeks ago, it was between 30 and 40, so I put 35.

pH took a nosedive after too much muriatic acid

I use the Taylor K-2006 kit but no Speedstir. Kind of wish I had one now, especially for the TA and CH tests. My fill water is connected through the house's water softener. It has 0 CH and 160 TA. Yes, I am using PoolMath and tracking CSI. I just did a full battery of tests yesterday evening...

pH took a nosedive after too much muriatic acid

Thanks for the advice. I just tested pH and it has risen to 7.2. When testing Alkalinity, I would usually stop when the green turns to red (6 drops). But I tried another drop and it turned deeper red. The 8th drop resulted in no change. So I guess my Alkalinity is 70, not 60? As for what I was...

pH took a nosedive after too much muriatic acid

Hi, I think I made a mistake but am not sure how bad. Over the past two weeks, my pH has been consistently high around 8.0, and I tried adding a cup of muriatic acid at a time. pH would go down to 7.8, then back up to 8.0 after 2-3 days. Today, I decided to go big and poured about 2/3 gallon...

Fix CYA or calcium first, and what to use?

Thanks for the advice! I just tested the CH of the fill water. It is indeed 0 due to being plumbed through the house with the water softener. The water before the softener has 110 CH.

Fix CYA or calcium first, and what to use?

We've had a bit of rain the past week so I've drained to bring the water level back to the middle of the skimmer. The autofill water is connected to our home water softener, which uses pottassium. Okay, I'll start with CYA and see how that goes.

Fix CYA or calcium first, and what to use?

Hi, all. I am just taking over from the weekly pool service, and this is the result of my first test using the Taylor K-2006. What should I fix first and how? I am running a Jandy Aquapure SWG.

Success upgrading to Jandy PDA-PS6 rev 5.0 and connecting to Century VGreen EVO variable speed motor

After the 2-speed motor on my Jandy Stealth pump died, I installed the Century VGreen EVO 2.2 HP motor. The pre-set schedules (which are based on how long the motor has been powered on) work fine, but I wanted more customization and integration with my automation system. I checked before...
