Variable Speed Pump Suggestion

My 11 year old main 2HP Jandy Stealth pump failed. I swapped it with an identical booster pump that was powering my fountains that I never, ever use. I'm up and running, but I would like to take the opportunity to upgrade to a VS speed pump. I have an Aqualink automation system which supports VS pumps - it would appear physical installation only differs in that I have to run a separate communications wire from the pump to the Aqualink panel so that I can access the VS functionality. Software setup seems straightforward enough from my limited research though I'll need advice on how low I can go with the speeds based on whatever unit you folks recommend.

What pump do you folks recommend? In my Aqualink setup, I see "ePump, Intelliflo VS, Intelliflo VF, and VSP AC". I assume this will dictate what options I have. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Pool size: 16k, Salt in-ground pool/spa combo with cartridge filter
Location: South Louisiana under too many trees.

Get the Jandy ePump for maximum compatibility (same manufacturer). The wet end is identical to the Jandy Stealth, so you won't need to re-plumb anything. You are correct about needing the additional RS-485 4-wire cable.

If tight on cash, you can also consider replacing the motor with a VGreen EVO.

Thanks for the reply! Do you have a link to the pump/motor you're talking about? Should be able to get a $400 rebate/credit i think for upgrading to VS. Not too worried about cost given the savings.

Replacing the motor is more difficult than replacing the entire pump, and only the motor will have a warranty. Not sure about the rebate, they likely require the entire pump be replaced.

Are you doing it yourself? Jandy requires professional installation for them to honor the warranty.

Sorry for the confusion, I want to replace the entire unit so it's easier. I do plan to do it myself. Thanks for the info on the warranty! Good to know, but I may just take my chances instead of paying 30% of the cost of the system for an install/warranty. I assume Pentair and Hayward have a similar policy?

Not sure about other brands. I don't even know where to buy a Jandy pump to install myself, you won't find any online sellers.
