Hayward astrolight pool light fixture. Ok to leave out for 2 days?

Thanks for everyones input. Light came yesterday, seal came today, and all done and working! Hopefully all the problems were due to a blown bulb and not a short somewhere. $15 bulb, $22 seal, and DIY is never a bad thing!! :)

Hayward astrolight pool light fixture. Ok to leave out for 2 days?

Hi, so my 500 watt bulb blew and today I took the assembly out and apart to see the bulb so I can replace with the same one. No one local has them in stock, so I ordered from amazon and will be here in 2 days. Is it ok to leave everything out (the breaker is off) for the next 2 days? I assume...

    question after opening.

Thank you. I will definitely test after my son's soccer game this morning, and see where the numbers are. I don't think algae is an issue as of right now, just on the bottom from the long winter, IMO. If the numbers start suggesting it, I'll do an OCLT at that point. I appreciate the quick...

    question after opening.

Hey all, I opened my pool yesterday. All went well, and no issues. The water was clear, but lots of dirt/algae on the bottom and liner. I put in 2 gallons of pool essentials liquid chlorine and ran the dolphin all through the day and this morning. This morning I also self vacuumed to get the...

what chlorine/bleach is everyone using? (assuming cloromax is still a no-no)

Thank you guys. I picked up a 4 pack of pool essentials from HD for opening. I still can't believe Clorox went to Cloromax for their one and only bleach. They should have done some and give the option for people that don't want cloromax. Maybe one day it'll come back...

what chlorine/bleach is everyone using? (assuming cloromax is still a no-no)

I will have to see the % of pool essentials cause 4 bottles from HD is around $17, but obviously if a lot less % then not worth it... Thx

what chlorine/bleach is everyone using? (assuming cloromax is still a no-no)

Hey all. Going to be opening up the pool this weekend and I'm just getting to thinking. Since Clorox started going with cloromax, has anything changed since last season about not using that? What is everyone using? I guess if worse comes to worse, I'll get pool essentials chlorinating liquid...

Main Drain - How can blowing it out leave it water-free?

That's a tough call, and one I'm not knowledgeable enough to make. I will say though, use a little physics to determine what you think you should do. If the main drain is 8 ft down, water will only go up to a certain point, not the whole way to the pump. They say, as long as there is 10% air...

Main Drain - How can blowing it out leave it water-free?

as stated earlier, you blow the lines out, and while the blower is still blowing out the main drains, you close off the valve going to the main drains. The air stays locked in the pipes. some water is at the very end of the drain, but that will never freeze
