Propane Heater vs Electric Heat Pump

This is our first summer with the pool and we are in Massachusetts where the weather has been changing all the time. I like the pool at 86 and the spa at 100. We tend to use the latter primarily on the weekends and we don't heat the pool every day. We have been going through around 180 gallons...

In floor cleaning? Worth the money?

I'm pretty happy, finally, with our in-floor cleaning system. They came and made some adjustments and the dead spots appear to be gone. Our pool season is short and I don't want to deal with a cleaner or robot, nor do I want to look at it. I just want to swim and see my pretty water. Mine...

    Pool depth dilemma *eyes rolling*

Our pool is 16x40 with an attached 10x10 spa with spillover. It goes from 3.5 to 5.5. We are 5'9" and 6'1". No kids. If I did it again, I would go 4.5 to 6.0-6.5. 3.5 feet is really shallow for adults, and too deep for little kids in the sense that if they can't comfortably stand with their head...

Give me some poolside ideas please!

I am sure someone handy could make this towel rack, but I don't fall into that category so I put in on my Christmas list last year :) This works much better for us than hooks at drying our towels quickly. I do use a clip for each towel to keep them from blowing away. Once we fence in our pool...

    New Build in Western Massachusetts

Sorry for the delay in my reply. I have been busy swimming...finally! Great point about not being able to see the water with a solar cover on. We keep one on our hot tub in the spring and fall, and it is super unattractive. With such a short season here, I definitely want to maximize my...

    New Build in Western Massachusetts

Love your water color SebastianC. I am also totally wowed by how quickly and smoothly your project went - congrats! Curious if you are considering a solar cover. We are currently waffling on whether or not it would be a significant cost savings versus the hassle. After all the rain yesterday...

Help with Waterline Tile and Pebble Tec! Newbie!

I feel like Emerald Bay would look pretty with your tiles. I also like how it looks at shallow depths, for your sun shelf and spa. Do you have the app? I found it helpful to look at on my phone up against my tiles. I am not good at just visualizing it from imagination :)

Help with Waterline Tile and Pebble Tec! Newbie!

I had the same debate about something that would blend in versus something sparkly. Our property borders a museum from the 1700's so we wanted to keep things traditional (in keeping with the surroundings - obviously no pool designs we could use from that era - lol), but also wanted it to have...

Does One Inch Water Loss Per Day = Leak?

There was a small leak somewhere around the salt generator which they fixed. They did a dye test around the lights and skimmer and found nothing. They think the water loss is a mix of evaporation, the spillway, and the small leak.

Paramount or Jandy? Which in-floor cleaning system is better?

This was the PB's response via email when I pointed out the discrepancies between what was in our contract and what we received, along with my understanding that the Jandy warranty is voided by the presence of the Paramount equipment: In regards to the floor system, we are both a Caretaker and...

Does One Inch Water Loss Per Day = Leak?

Bucket test results after 12 hours point to it being a leak. Water in pool lower than water in bucket. Waiting for PB to arrive. Edited to add that the water level in the pool is 1/4 inch lower than that in the bucket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Paramount or Jandy? Which in-floor cleaning system is better?

I had originally thought that maybe it was a Jandy canister with a Paramount lid, but I have since confirmed it is a Paramount canister. We have this: Debris Containment Canister - Paramount Pool and Spas Here are pics of our system: The wording in everything was fairly simple...
