3 way valve (diverter) flow question

Thanks. I get it now on the Jandy's. Essentially just redundant to put the unions because everything is rebuildable.

3 way valve (diverter) flow question

Not sure I follow. Sorry. My current setup has a valve that must be replaced because there is not sufficient pipe to connect new stuff. So when I swap it out, I plan to also replumb the pad and straighten some really twisted plumbing.. Just want to add in the plan for the future heater at the...

3 way valve (diverter) flow question

2 related questions. 1) I see lots of talk about unions for equipment. What about unions on valves? Worth it? Anyone have a good pic of how this would work when using a 3 way valve? 2) when 'plumbing for the future' for adding a heater/heatpump, is there a way to install a 3-way so that...

3 way valve (diverter) flow question

Yep...that was my question. Any value in going this route over a 1.5x2? Seems like it would be helpful from a future proofing perspective, but would not have a truly significant impact (compared to some other choke points).

3 way valve (diverter) flow question

Thanks for the input. Just trying to accumulate the parts for the pad remodel and trying to move everything to 2" on the pad as much as possible. But this one wasn't really clear. Since I am trying to avoid touching the plumbing aware from the pad at this time.

3 way valve (diverter) flow question

Do the different valves have a "meaningful" flow difference when considering a 1.5"x 2" vs. a 2"x2.5". Obviously the pipe size will impact the answer but I am just asking about the valve body itself. For example...if you have this scenario... 2" input -> valve -> 2" out & 1.5" out Would...

    TA60 - multiport replacement

After some additional research, it looks like you could change the MPV ($150) and the piping assembly ($80) to convert from 1.5 to 2'. Not 100% sure what you would have to do with the laterals. But for about $250 it seems like it could work. I'm guessing it is not a common practice though.

    TA60 - multiport replacement

But it looks like the TA 60 (and TA100) both offer a 2" MVP with 2"internals. So in that case, would the difference between 1.5 and 2 make much of a difference?

Intelliflo VS pump and Jandy valve questions

interested in why are you suggesting only 30 amps? If he is going to run a new service and subpanel, wouldn't it make more sense to run a higher service for expansion? BTW...Nice clean wiring job. Why do you have 3 empty breakers? Is that something special about the load center or are you...

Intelliflo VS pump and Jandy valve questions

The same three items are $30 cheaper if bought as individual items...but this bundle is tax free and shipped free so in my case would actually save me more then $100

    TA60 - multiport replacement

Interesting. I just assumed that when a filter was advertised as 1.5 - then the MPV and all internals supported that. And 2 - then all internals supported that...etc.. Wonder why Pentair (or others) would make a 1.5 and a 2 version of many of their MPV if they aren't really a "step up". At...

    TA60 - multiport replacement

cool. Sorry i wasn't clear. In theory, because I have a TA60, I have 3 choices and I am just trying to understand them before settling on a path forward. Keep the 1.5" MPV setup I currently have (although I have to replace the MPV either way because it is broken) and it will be the bottleneck...

    TA60 - multiport replacement

Perhaps an alternate way to ask the same question.... If I wanted to convert TA 60D 1.5" (145241) into a TA 60 2" (145385), besides the new MPV, what else would I need to change? I assume the piping assembly might need to be replaced with 2" (part 152237???) but what else? Like I asked in the...
