    Recurring rust spots

Update for the curious: apparently PebbleTec has been struggling with iron contamination. They will be sending divers to chip out and patch all of the spots under warranty.

    Recurring rust spots

They are in the exact same spots as before. The pool is only a couple months old, is this something my pool builder could remedy if its rebar?

    Recurring rust spots

I have a half a dozen or so rust spots in my pool. Took the advice of the forum and they easily came off with some vitamin C. But three weeks later, they’re back. Is this just how it’s going to be? Using vitamin C every few weeks? Or is there something else at play.

    Best Pool Float Organizer

We’ve been looking around online for something to store our pool floats so they aren’t just sitting on the deck. There don’t seem to be many options and the ones out there have poor reviews. It’s even harder that we’re limited to online options right now. Any advice on a good pool organizer...

    K1000 results higher than FAS/DPD

When I tested my pool today, visually the K1000 looked to be in the 5-10 ppm range. When I checked it using FAS/DPD, it only came out to 3.5 ppm. The discrepancy is pretty troubling to me since I was planning on using the K1000 as my daily test once I got the level below 5 ppm. Any advice? For...

    New Build in Houston

Other than some landscaping and coping work, we are done! I ran my first water tests today and came up with the following: FC: 8 CC: 0.5 pH: 7.6 TA: 80 CH: 100 CYA: 43 SALT: 2400 ppm Based on this, I'm going to add some Calcium (target 300 ppm) and Salt (target 3000 ppm). I've also ramped the...

    New Build in Houston

I’m going all travertine. FWIW my PB was pretty upfront that flagstone and limestone do the worst with salt. He also said there are sealants out there you can use.

Muriatic Acid addition via Stenner Pump

Can you point me to more info on this muriatic avoid addition? Is there one compatible with Jandy or was it DIY?

    New Build in Houston

I’m planning on being home at least through Gunite. It might be hard to be here all the way through plumbing and decking.

New Build in Houston - Oak Forest

Hey neighbor! Also building a pool in Oak Forest right now. It looks like we have very similar builds and pricing- mine is all Jandy and a little smaller than yours. I’m curious about your gas experience- I don’t have to move the line but I will have to upgrade the meter. All of the PBs I...

    New Build in Houston

Dig was today after a slight weather delay. The excavation crew was quick and professional- very respectful of the neighbors lot after they granted me permission to use it. Measurements all look good, 12-18 inches of buffer from the bottom for IFC and Gunite. Tomorrow is IFC install then...
