New Pool - New Pool Owner in North Texas

glad to hear it's going well. We built with Hauk a year ago. I can't comment on the pool surface. We used the same decking and same pattern and really like it. We haven't had any slipping issues and it stays cool even on the hottest of days. Be careful when Hauk does cleanup at the end of...

New pool, new plaster, first time owner- need help

PB hasn't put actuators on the scuppers yet. So they run when the filter runs. PB set filter to run full speed (it's a variable speed jandy) from 8a-5p for 2 weeks while plaster is curing and I'm brushing twice a day. Hopefully this gets things on track and I'll feel more comfortable handling...

New pool, new plaster, first time owner- need help

Yes. PB only started pool up and put chemicals in on 1st and 3rd day. Then passed things on to me. I want to handle maintaining the pool based on what I have read here. But the pH is getting fairly high and I want to make sure I don't damage the plaster. I'll add the above chemicals tonight and...

New pool, new plaster, first time owner- need help

Our pool was completed a week ago. It's the PB version of pebbletec. I'm on Tapatalk so I can't add the details of the pool on a signature. So, 20,000 gallons, pool and spa. Spa falls into pool. 2 scuppers. Using tf-100 for testing. 8.25% bleach and 31.45% muratic acid. No SWG, just going to...

New build in North Dallas- looking for suggestions/comments-UPDATED 9/22

Pool is filled. Test kit should arrive today. PB is handling start up. Since they warranty the plaster I figure they will get things going and I will take over soon. Equipment start up is tomorrow. I think brushing starts once the equipment is turned on. I may test the water tonight if I have...

Thanks. The streaking was before acid wash. This was after: The plaster is the builder's "custom blend". I'm not sure if it's supposed to match pebble sheen or tec, but it seemed to feel fine to walk on our neighbor's with the same finish. Hopefully it stays that way.

More progress! After putting the paver base down, we were put on hold the rest of the week as the supplier did not have our pavers. They started up again this week. We really like the look of the pavers. The nasty pool water; not so much (the mosquitoes in the back yard are crazy). I've been...

New build in North Dallas- looking for suggestions/comments-UPDATED 9/22

Decking started today. I have a couple of questions about drains. They only put in 2, and ran the pipe to the middle of our yard. I thought it was going to go to the side of the house and to the front yard. Also, the pool drain runs below the deck and looks like it will stop in the middle of the...

Wow! A year? I guess I shouldn't complain about a few weeks of down time. I don't know how you put up with that. 2 months seems forever to us already.

New build in North Dallas- looking for suggestions/comments-UPDATED 9/22

Re: New build in North Dallas- looking for suggestions/comments-UPDATED We continue to move forward slowly. Mostly because of the structure people causing the masons to tear down their work, twice. The last time was due to the posts of the structure not being positioned properly. But, it...
