    Baquicil to Chlorine

I used baquacil for about 3 summers without "major" problems, but the expense of the baquacil sanitizer/algistat, oxidizer, and algaecides was outrageous!! On average I spent about $600 every summer on the chemicals. I thought the baquacil was "safer" for the family, but later found out that was...

Been using Baquacil for 6 summers. Time to try BBB

Pool looks great. I'm adding CYA now. FC went down only .5-1 overnight. CC is 0 - .5. pH 7.2 . TA 150 . Borate still about 80. Still got a little vacuuming to do, but all is well. Water temp is 81, so we'll be in it this weekend!! A big thanks to Leebo, zea3, Smykowski, Casey, Dave S...

Been using Baquacil for 6 summers. Time to try BBB

After filtering all night through both sand and cartridge filters, my pool is completely clear and looks great!! I will post a photo later. Thanks to all for the help throughout the process.

Been using Baquacil for 6 summers. Time to try BBB

Now my pool is a nice blue color, but still cloudy about a foot or so deep. I can see my bottom step, but still not able to see the pool bottom well. My test results for tonight: after adding 3 bottles of bleach (58 bottles used so far) pH 7.5 ; FC 22 ; CC 1 ; TA 200 ; CH 100 ; water temp 81...

Today is the day! Finally! Baq conversion

I fought the pink slime all last summer. I sure won't miss the 100's of dollars spent every summer on sanitizer/algistat and oxidizer!! I bet you won't either!!

Today is the day! Finally! Baq conversion

I too am in process of converting. I'm in day 9, but I haven't been able to test and treat very often due to work and other projects. If you can devote a whole lot of time and a WHOLE lot of bottles of bleach, you can do it pretty quickly. Find some bottles of concentrated bleach (8.25%) to...

Wanting to convert from Baquacil to Chlorine

Your pool is looking great! Mine is finally coming-around, but I'm only able to treat it late afternoon, evening and early morning. My FC was at 17 this morning after adding a couple of bottles of beach, but by the time I got home at 3:30, the FC was at .5. Sun is taking all my FC!!

Been using Baquacil for 6 summers. Time to try BBB

Well, progress has been slow, but it is finally getting there. The pool has "cleared" dramatically in the last couple of days. The bottom steps are just barely visible on Monday 5-19. At about 8 PM, pH was 7.5, FC at 18, CC at 4, TA at 150, and CH at 350. Pool temp 75. Bottom step a little...

Wanting to convert from Baquacil to Chlorine

That brings up a good point, rc. which way is the return supposed to be pointing? I've allways had mine pointing down and away from my skimmer inlet, making the water move in a circular motion. I wonder if that is correct?

First post - Opening, Converting, Enjoying

A pressure washer works good at getting the **** off the ladder. Even under water. Had to blast the red algae from mine last year.

Been using Baquacil for 6 summers. Time to try BBB

Rover didn't like the pool. stopped up quickly with goo. have to wash the filter bag before trying again. Just added 4 gallons of bleach a bit ago. FC now at 24 and CC at 6. I went to the pool supply where I've always had my water tested for baquacil and had them test it again for baquacil. here...

Been using Baquacil for 6 summers. Time to try BBB

Pool is beginning to turn back to normal. It's now a blue-green color instead of just green. Progress! I've used 12 gallons of bleach (8.25%) in just the last 24 hrs, and that seemed to make the biggest difference. Total of 26 gallons so far. FC level was about 20 last night at 10:30 PM, and...
