    Winter pool closing, misc questions

Okay, so I've closed my pool and it went pretty well. I didn't love how my 'few year old' gizzmos fit, not sure if the threads are out of whack or what...so I ordered new ones and I might just blow the skimmer lines again on a warm day and use the new gizzmos instead. Also, curious....besides...

    Winter pool closing, misc questions

Yeah, for sure. I'll have a helper on hand so that will make it more manageable. I think I'll grab gizzmos with the spout on top in the future....that'll make it simple. Just wasn't sure if it was a major nono to leave water in the basket but with the gizzmo and some pool noodle, should be...

    Winter pool closing, misc questions

Great, much appreciated. That's a good point as well, I do want the water level up for the pool cover. I'll 'battle' to get the gizmo in, then add some pool noodle as well. Now I'll see if my pancake air compressor will get the job done, or if I need to hunt down a cyclone blower. Thanks!

    Winter pool closing, misc questions

Hey y'all, So I'm closing my pool for the first time, but I know for a fact the pool company who had done it the previous few years never dropped the pool water level at closing time. If I blow the skimmer lines won't it be impossible to keep the water out if the water level is the normal...

Granite coping prep & build help!

Thanks for the reply on the adhesive, concerning using it....I'm not opposed to mortaring the polymer wall area (as well as the concrete collar portion), I just was under the impression the mortar wouldn't adhere well to the polymer wall edge? Using just mortar instead of adhesive/mortar sounds...

Granite coping prep & build help!

Hey all, Can anyone recommend a good adhesive choice for bonding natural stones to a polymer pool wall? I'll use mortar along the concrete collar, but I think adhesive would be better where the polymer wall is. Thanks!

    Temporarily liquid chlorinating....but SLAM first?

pH held @ 7.2 after 4lbs of Cyanuric Acid. CYA must of been really low as it is only at about 30. I'm going to add another 4 lbs which should bring it up to 50-60. FC is slowly trickling down to 5 FC, it's currently at 7.5 FC. Tweaking the SWG/pump schedule to get it to hold at 5FC. Should...

    DIG-220 - Low Amps and/or Check/Clean Cell warning issue

Okay, just finished a SLAM...and now I've installed my new SWG cell and cord. I'll monitor FC closely for a few days to see if it's working...but warning lights are off. With the new cell, I'm at 18Volts and 6.5amps at first check after install.

    Temporarily liquid chlorinating....but SLAM first?

Nice! I'll get it down to 5ppm FC for normal day to day operation, then take a full retest of all levels. Thanks again for the help!

    Temporarily liquid chlorinating....but SLAM first?

Was at 11ppm FC when I tested it at 9pm. I wasn't going to have time to add chlorine and retest, so I left it at that. A 7am water sample tested at 10ppm FC. CYA is currently near 30.

    Temporarily liquid chlorinating....but SLAM first?

Okay, so results this morning were: .5 or less CCs, 1ppm FC loss overnight, water is clear. I think I'm good to go?

    Temporarily liquid chlorinating....but SLAM first?

Okay, meant to post earlier...water looks super clear, and my CCs were under .5 this morning. I'll do an OCLT tonight for the final hurdle. Thanks!

    Temporarily liquid chlorinating....but SLAM first?

Yeah, that's exactly what I did...filled to 25ml. My fault it says "using the 25ml" and I just filled to 25ml! I did retest with 10ml, and salt was at 3100. Thanks!

    Pump schedule advice

Okay, so I'm scrubbing my brain from my pool company's shoddy advice and I'm now curious how to best utilize my pump. They had me running it 23 hours a day, 3 equal time lengths with speeds of 1700, 2300, 2700. I'm currently slamming and running @ 2000 24/7 until the slam is finished. What...
