    Sand filter for Coleman pool

I ran my Hayward 1 HP pump on and extension cord for several weeks until we were able to get the electric to my deck fixed with no issues at all. It is not recommended but I just unplugged it if people were swimming. Sometimes you got to do what you got to do.

    AGP sand filter, after backwashing

Honestly, have never seen one like that. Mine just screws in and out. I guess for the time being, you could count 8 as zero and go from there. I just checked mine and it was doing the less filled thing in the pump again and the pressure was back up a little, so I backwashed again and the pump...

    AGP sand filter, after backwashing

My pump did the same but after back washing several times, it seems to have completely filled up. My pressure runs at a constant 16, so when it gets to 20 I back wash. I opened yesterday and have backwashed about 4 times already. The water didn't look too bad, but after slamming it, I can see...

    Classic

It hasn't been a great summer here by any means. Today is only the second day since the end of May that we have not had torrential rain and storms. Which leads me to this post. I stopped in my local pool store today to by a new floatie to lounge in. As I walked up to the door I noticed a sign...

New Pool Build -- 24' Steel pool

Our ground is clay also. Our pool was put together by an installer, but they just laid the sand right over the clay. Because my yard was so uneven the back of the pool looks like it is buried about a foot and a half. I did lay a drain pipe in the trench and covered it in rock and then mulch. I...

    New Steps

Yep, I've been around since my conversion from Baquacil to chlorine. And I've learned so much along the way thanks to the great people on this forum. I was wondering about the steps because some people said they floated and some people said they didn't, but thanks to this crew, I can channel my...

    New Steps

Thanks. I've been doing some research and there have been all kinds of great ideas. I guess I'll figure it out when they get here and I put them together.

    HAYWARD Diver Dave

I have the equivalent in Wanda the Whale and she does a fine job. I think you will find that "Dan" does a much better job in your new pool because the pump is probably stronger than it was in your Intex pool.

    New Steps

Hi everyone! I just ordered my very first set of steps for my pool. I have always just used the ladder mounted to the deck, but knee problems are making it more difficult. I ordered the Confer Curve base set. They seemed to have very good reviews. My question would be: Do any of you have these...

What value do YOU keep your FC level at?

I keep my chlorine in the 5-6 range. I target at 7-8 in the evenings because I normally lose anywhere from 2-3ppm's per day depending on the circumstances. My cya level is around 40, so that way I ensure I never get below the minimum. Since finding this site, it has worked for me for 5 years...

Can I get by with just clips?

The pool cover clips I had just wouldn't stay on. I found some kind of clip at Ollies, that is rubber tipped and clamped right on. Seems to hold it down much better than the cover clips did.

    Algae

My hidden source was also INSIDE of the ladder. The outside was constantly scrubbed and remained algae free. I pulled the ladder out and covered all of the tiny little holes with duct tape. Then I funneled in bleach /water solution in the bigger holes and let it sit for about an hour. When I...
