Suction side vacuum to drain pool

Thank you for your input neighbor. I am an totally newbie and got scared about draining the pool completely from some of the posts here. I can order the pump and have the pool drained and refilled quickly (have one of those sprinkler valves which add fresh water quickly) but just have been...

Suction side vacuum to drain pool

Can I use my suction side vacuum to drain my pool. I have a cartridge filter and I can connect a hose to the pressure relief valve to a sewage drain in the backyard. Has anyone tried this? Can I do it to replace 20% of water every day for a few days in order to lower my CYA?

That's a great idea. The outlets are inverted because there is a switch right of it. I'm going to test them out with switch and then TEST the bathroom GFCi and check them again. Will report back in the morning.

Yes, I did add the initial 5 drops. If I didn't my CH will be even more.

The panel above the outlets is the breaker box for the pump. I am going to be doing a remodel soon and will switch all outside outlets to GFCI compliant outlets.

Attached is the picture of what is in the housing. But, I have a door 5-6ft to the right of that outlet for downstairs bathroom and it has a GFCI outlet with TEST/RESET buttons so worse come worse I can run a 12 gauge extension cord from it to the pump. GFCI is not an issue anymore.

I did open the outlet and checked that there are no TEST/RESET buttons.

The outlet is within the housing which is circled in the picture. It does not have the TEST/RESET buttons.
