Thanks for your advice. It turns out the air bleed line was out of alignment, and I managed to jury-rig it into place and that stopped the leak. If it reappears I'll turn off those jets.

I'd like to remove this stair liner so that I could get at a suspected ruptured line beneath. When the pump is running, water pools at the deck seam of the stairs and runs all over the deck. It's not heavy flow but adds up over a summer. I also suspect the air return vertical pipe has shifted...
