Tried the 1.5” unions I have and they are bigger than the male threads on the filter, pump and skimmer. Looks like I need a 2” threaded fitting to see if that fits. Wondering if the whirlpooling I get when the skimmer basket is taken out has to do with the piping going to 1 1/4”.

Agreed on the solar cover. Made a huge difference for us. Just this past weekend we were in the pool in the morning it was 83. Covered it back up and 5-6 hours later took the solar cover off and it was up to 86.

Also noticed that the sand was about 10.5" from the top of the filter. IF the filter is the Sanddollar filter which is what I think it is, there is no dimension for sand from the top of the filter in the manual. Using the Tagelus manual though, the smallest filter should have sand up to 7.75"...
