Well, this doesn't look good. Algae? How is this possible with such high chlorine in the water? The water temp is 65.8. Brr.

I added the chlorine about an hour or so after the fill, the color hasn't changed since the fill. :( And yeah, good point about the pipes. That is super gross if it is algae.

The water came from a fire hydrant. It was green right from the get-go. The other families in town that use fire hydrants to fill their pools did not have the same issue - their water cleared very quickly. The fire dept says that this fire hydrant is city water, but I am truly doubting it...

Yes, I did read Pool School. I am just totally overwhelmed with all the numbers. I am not a math person and am feeling a lot of anxiety with learning this new stuff. I know I'll get it, I am just afraid of messing up - lol which I totally did anyway by ODing the chlorine.

How long do you think it will take for the chlorine to go down? Should I leave the pool uncovered to make it go down faster? Would that help?
