    Intellichlor IC40 Incorrect Salt Level

It was 57°F at the time, currently at 55°F. I'm guessing I should just ignore it as long as the chlorine is staying where it is supposed to. Although my acid injector seemed like it stopped injecting as well.

    Intellichlor IC40 Incorrect Salt Level

My Intellichlor IC40 is showing an incorrect salt level. It is just slightly over 1 year old. It was showing low, but my Taylor drop test showed 3600ppm. I added 1 bag of salt to see what it would do and it got me over the threshold for low salt for a bit (a few days), but is now showing very...

    Backyard #3 in <2years

How to you go about programming a delay like this? Also, my deck jets tend to run all over the place until the valve completely switches to them. Is there a way such that when I turn on the water features it will stop the pump, move the valve to the appropriate setting, and then turn the pump...

New Pool Calcium Hardness and Balancing Question

I'll look into the meter. Given that I will be using softened water for the auto-fill, is it still preferable not to add Calcium? That would give me more usable (testable) range for the pH to play with.

New Pool Calcium Hardness and Balancing Question

Too late for the CYA, I added 2lbs. Pool math was saying to add 3lbs, 10 oz, so I'll see where I end up. Is there a reliable way to measure pH above 8 to try and keep the CSI closer to zero?

New Pool Calcium Hardness and Balancing Question

Thanks. When I do the pool math thing, I shoot for 7.4 for my acid additions. Should I be shooting for 7.8 instead? At the end of the 30 days if my CH is still below 350 should I then add Calcium Chloride? Also, does salt play into the CSI numbers? We won't be adding salt for 6-8 weeks.

New Pool Calcium Hardness and Balancing Question

Hello, Just finished plaster a week ago today and finished filling up with water last Tuesday. Below are my current numbers. My question is, should I be adding calcium chloride to get up to the 350 to 450 range or will this come up on its own? I do have it plumbed with soft water, but I have...

    Fence Stain Suggestions

I'm going to get a small piece of the wood I am thinking of using to see how it stains. I believe it is kiln dried, so it should soak in well. I used Sikkens on my pergola and that came out great, but way darker than I expected. It is pretty much jet black.

    Fence Stain Suggestions

Fence will likely be some type of pine board. Jim, that stain looks perfect. Pecan is right in line with what I was looking for.

    Fence Stain Suggestions

Hello, I plan on building a horizontal slatted wood fence around my pool equipment. I'm researching stain options. I'd like to be able to see the grain of the wood and am looking natural looking brown tones. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Backyard #3 in <2years

I should have chosen the colors backwards. The blue is the water that goes through the heater. In the bypassed state (99.9% of the time) the red flow will come hit the T at the end and can either go up or down. It will go up because the pressure coming up from the blue flow will be equal to the...

    Backyard #3 in <2years

There are no check valves. With the valve open, the pressure at the T leading to the heater and the T where the heater water returns will be at the same pressure and therefore shouldn't have any flow (or very little) through it. As you close the valve, the pressure differential will begin to...

Autofill hooked up to a sprinkler line

That makes sense. Thanks. I'm going to install it above where the line exits my house, which is no where near any other sources of water and well above the pool water line.
