    Discoloration of gelcoat after SLAM

I was looking this morning when the sun came out and it's barely noticeable in the sunlight. I wonder if it could simply be where the textured surface on the pool bottom was applied slightly heavier in places during manufacturing, and is now more visible than before in low sunlight. It did...

    Discoloration of gelcoat after SLAM

I have a 2 year old fiberglass pool that so far has been very easy to care for, owed largely in part to the info that I've learned on TFP. This Spring, I had my first encounter with mustard algae. I normally keep all of my chemicals balanced using a Taylor K2006 kit. However, we went on a 3...

    New Pool - Cracked Grout

Thanks. So, since the bond beam was tied to the concrete deck via rebar in our build, the diagrams you show would have them be two separate structures, correct? Our bond beam was not tied to the pool shell, but was tied to the concrete deck.

    New Pool - Cracked Grout

We have a new fiberglass pool that was completed a few weeks ago. I noticed the grout line between the waterline tile and coping had begun to crack on one side of the pool. It has now spread over a long span and is coming out in some places. I sent pics to my pool builder. Upon research...

    High Salinity

Thanks! I just ordered the k1766 kit and will calibrate the SWG to the results. I'll then do what is needed to get the salinity to within the manufacturer range. One other question regarding CH. I originally had a CH of 70 ppm and had to add 20 lbs of calcium chloride to get it to 150 ppm...

    High Salinity

I recently had a new fiberglass pool installed (details in my signature) and have become fairly well acquainted with keeping the water chemistry in check, thanks to TFP and a Taylor k2006 test kit. When the PB completed installation, they gave me a basic rundown on everything and instructed...

    Waviness in fiberglass walls

Thanks for the quick responses! I found the manufacturer's installation instructions online, and they do indicate that sand should be used. This is mostly sand, with trace amounts of pea gravel throughout. I did think about reaching out to the manufacturer directly. However, it was just...

    Waviness in fiberglass walls

Hi, new to the forum and just wanted to get some opinions on something. We are currently having a fiberglass pool installed. I'll layout a brief timeline leading to where we are currently. Our pool was set into the ground, leveled, plumbed, and backfilled a couple of feet with a sand/pea...
