    New Home, Green Pool

Hello, My daughter moved in to another home with a green pool. (algae pool). I took this project on my own, I decided to drain the 17,000 pool and power wash the walls. (done) When its time to refill, I will stay with the TFP recommendations on the chemicals? I will use the calculator for...

    Borate Drop test?

I put 5 boxes of borax in my pool and the calculator said 10 boxes for a 14,000 gal pool to get a 50ppm reading. So I added half and tested. I tested my borates today via test strips from TFtestkit.net, and my test was indicating about 60 -80 ppm. I added borax in the past, and always got a...

    Pool Balanced, but have algae

Thanks guys, I think I will brush everyday, that will be the simplest. I don't know if I have enough liquid chlorine to keep it on the high side of the FC chart (7.0). BTW, is there a chlorine shortage going on? I can't find liquid chlorine at either Lowes or Home Depot.

Today test results. Temp: 83 FC: 7.0 CC: .5 PH: 8.0 TA: 90 CH: 520 CYA: 45 Borate: 50 CSI: 0.57 Water is crystal clear, I add muriatic acid once a week to keep PH at 7.5, it likes to settle around 7.9-8.0 But my concern is why CH gets higher and higher. I test CH once a month. On May 1st CH...

    CYA Standard R-7065

OK, fair enough. I will practice some more. If I'm correct, I hold the CYA test tube at waist high & pour, and sun at your back? Also, is it correct to use the graduated cylinder with speed stir to mix solution? Thanks, John

    CYA Standard R-7065

I have been testing CYA in my pool for a year and a half. I'm doing a pretty good job of it. I thought it would be a good ideal to buy the CYA standard solution R-7065, just to check my calibration eye. I just received my R-7065 and R-0013 8oz. each today. One was labeled R=7065, but...
