    Newbie question about automatic chlorinators

I'm definitely realizing that. My CYA is already at 60. If I'm doing the math correctly (now using PoolMath), along with 2 pucks, I need about 60oz of LC per day to maintain proper levels. And then that will continue to increase over time as the CYA ultimately increases. Eesh.

    Newbie question about automatic chlorinators

So I had a follow up to this question, if anyone is able to help answer: I put 2 pucks in the chlorinator, at a setting of 3 (out of 5), and it lasted me 8 days (approximately 104 running pump hours). Is there any way to back into how much chlorine and CYA these 2 pucks added to my pool on...

    Perfect score….but is it??

Just got my first 100% score at Leslie’s on my chemical test (I have ordered the recommended test kit, but it’s not in yet). Scores: FC: 2.87 Total C: 2.87 pH: 7.7 TA: 83 CH: 246 CYA: 72 Iron: 0 Copper: 0 Phosphates: 22 TDs: 600 From reading on here, given my CYA is 72, shouldn’t my FC be...

Is there a difference WHEN chlorine is added?

My pool needs about 30oz of liquid chlorine per day to maintain the desired FC levels. Is there a difference between adding all 30oz in the morning vs at night vs splitting it up (15oz in the morning, 15oz in the evening)?

Any advice on my pump speeds and times?

I'll have to get the exact model when I get home. Dont see it on the documents I have.

Any advice on my pump speeds and times?

I have a variable pump system and have been running the same schedule since the pool builder installed it, at his advice: From 9am-5pm @ 2200 RPMs From 1am - 5am @ 2850 RPMs (this was added because I get free nights with my electric provider) The pool is only 8k gallons. Not sure if those RPMs...

    Newbie question about automatic chlorinators

Hello all. Been lurking for a while and reading a lot of good info that has helped me as a new pool owner. I had a general question about chlorine pucks and automatic chlorinators (and yes, I have read plenty on how these are not preferred, can raise CYA, etc. However, that is not the intent...
