    AGP Lights

I have a 22 ft Intex and the Intex magnetic light. It lights up the whole pool pretty well, but for the 32 feet you might need one on each end.

    Intex 3 way valve

We have an intex fountain that we use to cool our water in sunny Arizona. To use the fountain, we have to turn off the plunger valve from the return, unscrew the hose, screw the hose to the fountain and turn the pump back on. Then reverse the whole process to turn the fountain off, vacuum...

    green no more

You didn't provide enough information to know why it happened. Did you test and balance your new water before adding salt and turning on the SWG? What is your CYA (stabilizer) level? Did you bring your free chlorine level up to maintenance using liquid chlorine before turning on the SWG...

    Aeration revisited

JennMary, I'm guessing it wouldn't be difficult at all. It is a simple set up. The fountain just clips to the top rail of the pool, and we screwed the hose that should go to the return directly into the fountain. I don't know what size the hoses are on the summer escapes pool, but I'm sure it...

    Aeration revisited

So beyond the obvious - having to chase the PH and alkalinity - there isn't a reason not to use aeration if you're willing to do the chasing. Right? I'm in the Phoenix area, where it was a lovely 120 degrees today. At 7:30 in the evening we are still sitting at 114 and with any luck it will...

Poll: Through wall skimmer in a soft-side (Intex, Coleman, etc) pool

Ha Ha! I was ready before it came, but my husband not so much. It took him till the weekend (3 days) but I had him out there bright and early Saturday morning. Afterwards, he said it went much better than he expected and took less that 30 minutes from start to topping the water back up. Go...

    Advice from Mustard Algae survivors?

I had an outbreak of mustard algae in April. Best advice ever is DON'T USE YELLOW OUT and stay out of the pool store for a remedy. That stuff ate up my free chlorine faster than I could pour it in, and I had so much combined chlorine in my pool it stunk like a public pool. Honestly, I knew...

New to TFP and new pool owner questions...

berdog123 - a little extra explanation because this part was confusing to me. IF you need to SLAM, turn your SWG off during the SLAM and use the chart/numbers as a chlorine pool and as if you did not have an SWG. So add enough CYA to raise your level to 30, and then assume it's there and use...

Which pool should I pick? Newbie

The brown wicker is nice, but I'm all about the most for my money, so I'd choose this one. https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=22%20x%2052%20intex%20pool&typeahead=22%20x%2052 You'd have plenty of money left for some nice stairs, Hayward skimmer and a pool light. :) Diana

Intex saltwater water system salt ppm woes and general Rust prevention questions?

Its odd that some rust and some don't. I'm in hot, dry and sunny Arizona, have had the Intex 22x52 ultra frame with SWG up for four years, and not a spot of rust anywhere. Diana

help this is driving me nuts.

I don't think just leaving the stairs out of the pool for a few days will do it. Our pool was clean, and basically clear, but just slightly dull. Could not get that sparkly water back. We have Confer stairs. Pulled them, cleaned them, let them sit for a couple of days before we got them back...

    new pump?

I have the ultra frame 22 x 52, a wanda the whale, Hayward skimmer, water fountain and we just switched to the same pump you ordered from Amazon. It is fine for our pool. Diana

Just curious, why saltwater vs chlorine?

On my cheapie Intex pool, the Intex SWG was not a big investment and it is much more forgiving than manually adding liquid chlorine or bleach. Its part of my regular list of chores to test the pool water, but if I forget for a day or three or go away for the weekend the pool does just fine...

    Algae-dust-pollen question

Thanks Bill. Glad you finally got it figured it out. But 58? BRRRR! My water is 66 now and I am not anxious to get back in there to brush some more. I can't imagine it could be anything growing, but am doing one more OCLT tonight to be sure. We're due to hit 95 tomorrow so it will be clean...

    Algae-dust-pollen question

Honestly I knew better than to throw the Yellow Out in there, much less do it twice, but I was so frustrated. (I did resist the bags of "shock" they tried to sell me and used liquid chlorine) The pool went from having 18 FC and 0 CC to 1 FC and 12 CC in literally 24 hours. And oh, the smell...
