Dang - it's hard to get service over a holiday weekend! Meanwhile, just paddling around the pool manually adding chlorine... :-(

Pentair Superflo won't stay on and is loud when it does start...

Hi all - I've got a Pentair Superflo with a weird problem. 2 weeks ago I replaced the capacitor because it wouldn't start (just hummed) and that appeared to fix it. Fast forward to today, and the pump is back to humming when I turn the power on most of the time. Occasionally I can get it to...

Pump overheated - power hum - can manually start it spinning - still no priming?

It ended up being a two part fix. I picked up a new starter capacitor and installed it - fixed the hum! Then I got a new O ring for screw top clear access thingy to the pump - the old one couldn't stand up to priming pressures along with the high heat of the past couple of days. Capacitors are...

Pump overheated - power hum - can manually start it spinning - still no priming?

A couple of additional notes. I ran the pump for a few minutes (after manually getting the impeller to engage) with the plastic sight glass top in place and it started pulling a trickle of water through but never seemed to want to pull more than that - usually it would prime within 30 seconds or...

Pump overheated - power hum - can manually start it spinning - still no priming?

Strange problem - I've got a 1 HP Pentair Superflo that apparently stopped working this morning. My wife called me while I was out golfing and said the GFI had tripped for the pump, and when she went to reset it and start the pump, there was only a humming. When I got home I checked it out - the...

Need some help ASAP - a 9 year old's birthday party depends on it!

We had a perfect 90F day and the party was a success! Thanks everyone! The FC was even in the teens and no one complained about the chlorine, so that's great as well! Dan

Even swam in it despite the 21 ppm of FC - barely noticeable! Thanks everyone! Looks like my heater adds around 1 degree F per hour, though at 72F it's plenty comfortable. 90F forecasted for Saturday so might just keep it around there. Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

pH is at 7.4 right now with a TA of 80. Passed the OCLT last night so letting the chlorine dissipate a bit before the weekend. Water looks good! Definitely some grit on the bottom that I've had to vacuum - from the air or sand filter perhaps? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Need some help ASAP - a 9 year old's birthday party depends on it!

I'll do my first OCLT tonight. Did a vacuum this morning - have a consistent little patch of dark matter below the shallow end jet, which is odd - guess there is a little whirlpool there? Also, the water is 68 degrees - how long in advance do I have to fire up the heater to get comfortable water...

29 FC 1 CC This morning at 5 am. Water looks better. Got a vacuum yesterday so gonna try that out. Should I vacuum to waste or filter? Seems like mostly fine stuff on the bottom. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Just retested after 3 hours - down to 22 from what should have been 28, so adding another 146 ozs of bleach. Sound right? Plan on testing and sweeping every 3 hours.
