Thanks for the input. I think I will re-wire the timer for now and set sync them up. But eventually I plan on installing a current sensing relay to handle this (as some other people on TFP have done).

My pump recently died and it was replaced with a Pentair VST pump. Previously everything was connected to a mechanical timer that turned everything on/off. The installer said since the new pump has its own timer I didn't need to use the mechanical timer anymore and he removed the on/off...

This is my second year with the pool and the problem just started this year. The pump is on a timer to turn on in the mornings and about 1x a week when the pump turns on the weir gets stuck and the pump starts sucking in air. The water level is right where it needs to be and I tried sanding...

Turns out my SWCG was broken. Luckily it was still under warranty.

OCLT result: 2.2 at night, 1.8 the next morning = 0.4

I have a 27K salt water pool. I would like to keep my FC around 4, but recently I can't seem to get it above 2. I am running the filter for 10 hours a day and the SWCG was set to 60% and it was keeping up, but I recently upped it to 70% because it wasn't keeping up. My test results: pH: 7.8...

I don't think I have iron in my water, I will have to check my test results. I normally test the TA/pH/FC/CC once a week, (I just haven't been adding the results to the poolmath) Thanks for the info!

Thanks - I thought it might be some sort of pollen. Just wanted to make sure that it wasn't mold or algae. I do have a weir, but sometimes the thermometer jams it. I'll take the thermometer out today and see if I can get this cleared up.

I have these small clear/white things floating on the surface of the pool. Does anyone know what they are or how to get rid of them? The filter has been running but it's not sucking them into the skimmer basket. I tried using the net to scoop them all out, but I think they are too small for...
