    Winter Green

Thank you all for the info. I will test and follow up.

    Winter Green

I understand SLAM. What I am having trouble understanding is the reason for green algae in freezing temperatures. And I am questioning the chlorine’s actual effectiveness in these low temps as well. So before spending more money on chlorine to bring up to SLAM levels is this even possible right...

    Winter Green

Hi everyone. How do I solve green pool water in the winter? I leave it open year round even though it is not in use just because I like the water feature of a blue swimming pool. I was under the impression algae blooms that take over the whole pool are rare in cold temperatures yet here we are...

    Manual Vacuuming

Agree. However when I try that myself everything I vacuum shoots right back into the pool through the return jets. Don’t you have that same problem too?

    Manual Vacuuming

Hey everyone! Been awhile since I last asked a question. Sorry if this one is sort of basic but here it goes: For the most part I rely on my robot to clean the pool. Then occasionally I pull out the hose and pole to manually vacuum the debris it misses (mostly fine sediment, dirt, dead algae)...

If I’m Not Closing The Pool This Winter…

Thanks will do. I just wasn’t sure if I’m supposed to maintain the same recommended level from PoolMath that I’ve been using all summer even during the off season too? I know algae stops growing after temperatures drop down to a certain point so didn’t know if that changes the FC level...

If I’m Not Closing The Pool This Winter…

Following up on this as we’re getting closer to winter. At what point do you recommend I stop pouring liquid chlorine into the water? The FC level is still dropping but at a much slower rate than before because of less activity. With temperatures already dropping down now we may not even swim...

New - Leslie’s AccuBlue Home Program

I'm not. I posted that question awhile back and agree that since then I have received lots of excellent advice and help restoring my pool to now make me a TFP convert. So, thank you everyone!

    Help // Oasis to Green

Yep I have PoolMath. That’s how I’ve been posting the results here the last few days. I’ll take your advice (thank you!) however I did want to point out that I have vinyl not fiberglass like you mentioned (or doesn’t matter?)

    Help // Oasis to Green

So here’s the latest. Everything is still holding pretty well. And visually it looks fantastic (the latest attached photo is a world of difference from before!) However CYA and TA still remain high. Is it worth draining some of the water (how much?) and refilling to lower the CYA and/or pouring...

    Help // Oasis to Green

So two quick follow up questions now that I’m back on track: 1. Now that I have converted to liquid chlorine do I just dose it based on what PoolMath says each day? Or is there an easy rule of thumb I should remember to use? 2. What do I do with my inline chlorinator and all the pucks I have...

    Help // Oasis to Green

Here’s the overnight results. Note: I think the first reading I sent you yesterday afternoon may have been off because the free chlorine numbers were actually higher when I tested again last night even though none was added. This morning the FC stayed the same at 12.5 but the CC dropped from 1...
