    Leak won't go away

Is there any Teflon tape on those threads? I don't see any those pictures. I would try that first. 5 to six wraps of tape. Clockwise direction when looking at the thread. Tape is cheap, a buck or two at big box stores. You could add a light coat of clear silicone on threads as well. The stuff...

Very low levels of CYA. Everything else looks ok.

Make sure you are doing the CYA test correctly as well. Outside, sun behind you, test tube at waist level, and just take a glance at the tube looking for the black dot. I was definitely doing this wrong a first.

New pool owner just making sure I'm doing this correct.

Hello everyone. Like many here, bought a home with an above ground pool 18ft round with surrounding deck. Cover tore during the winter, so to get a jump on things i pulled the cover back to clean the leaves. I made all the connections for filter and pump. Topped off the water and ran the pump...

What did you do to your pool today?

First time pool owner. Pulled the cover (ripped in the center) off today, vacuumed large debris and leaves, connected the pump and filter and topped off the water. Ran the pump and filter for about an hour. Did my very first water test with the help of my wife. Numbers were not too bad. Covered...

Decent leak from above ground pool pump

You could try taking it apart and check the o-ring. Add some silicone sealant, re-assemble let it set overnight and see if it helps. If that does not work you can find a decent Hayward pump for about $250.

What did you do to your pool today?

I spent yesterday digging a 4' x 2' hole to make a pad for pump and filter. The old owners just had the pump and filter sitting in the dirt loose. I added some paver base but did not pick up enough. Back to home depot tonight and try to wrap this up this week. Still toying with whether I...

What did you do to your pool today?

New home with AGP pool. After the ice melted off the cover i was able see that has a fairly large tear in the center. Cleaned out as many leaves as i could to keep them from falling in. Tomorrow will be looking to get a couple of 2' x 2' pavers to set the filer and pump on and looking into...

    Hello Everyone

I have been lurking here for a few months. We recently purchased a home that has an 18 foot round above ground pool with deck all around and a hot tub. This will be my first experience maintaining a pool. I'm guessing 5500 to 6000 gallons won't be sure until i get the cover off and measure the...
