Hey everyone..I'd like to know which pool vacuums you use. I'm going to purchase a new but don't want to spend a fortune on one. I have an above ground pool..15,000 gal. Anyone use any thats decently price that does a good job cleaning? Thanks in advance for input :)

Hey everyone, I need to replace my pressure gauge on my Hayward pump..is this something I can do or do I need someone from the local pool store? I have already bought the replacement. Didnt know if this is a DIY job :) Thanks 😊

I'm definitely going to buy a few pillows to put in the pool before covering it this fall. Need to go purchase a small utility pump, as you suggested. The thought of this gross water going into the pool is frightening lol. Do leaf nets over the cover help at all? If so, I'll be getting that...

Ok..its getting closer...we might get 2 more months out of the pool...my question is Pool covers for the AGP. What are the better brands to deal with? Easiest in use? Listen...which one will do its job so when I open the Pool next year, there wont be a total mess to clean up. Double impressed...

Exactly..I read & read this site constantly..but once you figure out your levels and just keep them stable, it really is a lot easier than I thought (knock on wood) I have just kept what everyone has said in my head..use simple chemicals and test every day. I at least test my PH & FC daily.

I haven't added any salt to my pool. Not for sure if that would hurt my filter?? I'm guessing not since people do add it, but my water has felt great, so I'm not messing with it. :)

The only way to drop your CYA level is to remove water then refill..so make sure to test first before you add anything to increase you cya level. If your cya level is too high, then you have to keep your chlorine level higher to keep algae growth at bay. There is a table somewhere on this site...

Also, I do have muriatic acid also and used it once but probably won't again unless my ph goes berserk. The fumes are so toxic! Of course I opened it outdoors, but sweet mother, its really bad. So, bleach, borax and baking soda is my go to for chemicals.

Ok..I'm pretty new to this also, so I'll tell you what I've learned from this site and by asking people. I use reg bleach from the store. Same stuff as the stuff at the pool store, just lower concentration. You can add that to the pool app and it will tell you how much to add in your pool...

After you add salt, do you need to keep testing it, maybe monthly or weekly, to see if you need to add more?

Are we able to add water softner salt to a above ground pool that doesn't have a salt generator? If so, is there a kit that will test the salt levels? And, how much salt do we use? Thanks :)
