What did you do to your pool today?

Cleaned up the deck. Heater is on, working like a charm. Gaining on the average 5 ° / day. A week ago the water was 60°F. Now 82F. Monday Tuesday it's going to be close to 87°F outside, so we should be close to 90°F in the pool by then

Yet another, Test Kits in Canada Thread

I had an American friend purchase and ship me the TF-100 test kit 2 years ago. Cost 82$ AMD. Last year I locally sourced some of the reagents. That was expensive.

    IceShadow Pool Opening 2021

The only thing I heard is with vacume cleaners such as th Kreepy Crawley will get stuck and then rub off the printed pattern. My last pool was a solid colour through and through so no damage.

Did you warm up your water sample before you tested the CYA?

What did you do to your pool today?

Rain, warm temperatures, and now sun has melted all the floating ice. I tied up a sump pump to lower my water which was close to overflowing. I removed the excess water from the top in the shallow end. Canadian Tire has a lot of liquid chlorine bottles all lined up. I will buy some today and...

What did you do to your pool today?

I took a photo. We had snow over Easter but today the rain is melting it away. The lighter area in the picture shows where the ice is frozen to the mesh cover. I don't want to rip the liner so I won't lower the pool. In case the ice is frozen to the liner somewhere.

    After the freeze... Swamp Alert!

If you have a sump pump to lower water level it can help move the water around. I tie mine up and let the hose snake around. Up in Canada I will do this for a week or more before I hook everything up.

What did you do to your pool today?

I peeked under the safety cover. The NE corner that gets more sun was open water & I could see down to the deep end. A little murky but that is because of the mesh cover. The south side safety cover which only now lost it's snow & ice build up is frozen to a large ice burg. I tapped the cover...

    Opening maintainence

I would like to move my sand filter and put it up on a drain pan. First it is too heavy to move so I will need to remove the sand. I am thinking a shop vac should work to remove the sand without damaging the laterals.

Buying a house with an inground pool

Add your equipment to the signature. I would test to see if you have leaks in the plumbing. One way is to simulate a power outage. Turn of the pump and see if the pump will maintain prime after being off for a few hours.

Green to Almost Clean in 24 hrs.

I am impressed that you are cleaning it up so fast with 41°F water. Last year I did my first True Slam and the water remained clear. Before that it kept getting slightly cloudy.

Green to Almost Clean in 24 hrs.

I still have ice, so I was surprised at your early opening. I agree with cowboycasey. Do a slam. No shortcuts. It is easy to clear up a pool and think you got rid of all the Algae, only for it to go cloudy again. I suspect your pool looked clear when you closed it but it must have been...

    pH, FC, CYA, green water

I wouldn't microwave it. Use a sink of hot water. Your sample bottle will warm up quickly.
