Is "smart" home or alexa able to control your system?

I have a smart switch that was spliced into the feed for my equipment. The mechanical timer was removed and the pump is always switched to the "on" position. I've been programming it through the smartthings interface for a while and it's also alexa compatible. Just make sure the switch you...

New pool on sloped yard need to backfill the right way

the back of my pool is level with the ground and the land behind it continues to slope upward. We put in a french drain around the back 1/2 of the pool and backfilled with our existing soil. We have sandy soil. I have a radiant pool, so it's designed to be buried.

    Mastertemp for AGP?

Thank you. I just don’t know if that size heater fits into the budget right now. I’m looking to get about a 5 degree increase in temp on weekends at the beginning and end of the season. If the one suggested by the plumber wouldn’t work, then I’d rather wait and get a larger heater later. Thanks...

    Mastertemp for AGP?

I’m looking to install a heater for my 24’ AGP. I’d use it mainly at the beginning of the season and at the end. I like the pool water above 80. One plumber wants to use a mastertemp pentair 125. I was thinking of the Raypak 156. Anyone have experience with the mastertemp? Thanks!

    Radiant Pool liner separating

I wish I had a solution. I have the same problem with my radiant pool! I lost a foot of water using their cover this winter. Previously I used the standard winter cover with a bubble and didn't lose any water. I'm amazed my skimmer box didn't crack. I'm still working on trying to get the liner...

    AGP entry system from deck

I could have added the steps you were considering with my Radiant pool, but they were $5k! I went with these http://www.conferplastics.com/pools-and-spa/pool-steps/ We have the straight and 1/4 round section. If stability is a problem, I probably wouldn't add the 1/4 round since you can't...

UPDATE with test results!! Northeast freezing pool and maybe incorrect closing

You can see the ice build up in my thread from a few months ago Well, something went wrong I was much better off with the regular cover and pillow. It was a pain to put on, but I have so much more water to replace this year and I may need a new skimmer box as well. I'm going to have to keep...

UPDATE with test results!! Northeast freezing pool and maybe incorrect closing

Are you using the radiant winter cover? We used a standard winter cover last year and didn't have any issues with water leaking. This year, we used the radiant cover and water is leaking out through the skimmer box and return. We have a plate screwed onto the skimmer box inside the pool and...

    Well, something went wrong

I think we are going to change quite a few things for next year. So much for the pool builders advice on closing the pool I managed to get the ice out of the skimmer today and removed the connection to the pump. Water was just barely seeping in around the steel plate we used to...

    Well, something went wrong

I think you're on the right track. I finally got a minute to inspect it yesterday (I home with a toddler all day and he's into everything). We didn't have any leaks when the water on the cover wasn't frozen. The water line (now frozen) in the pool is significantly higher than when we put the...

    Well, something went wrong

I'm going to try to disconnect the line between the skimmer and pump. I don't think I can get in to remove the cover on the return. The Ice seems high and im afraid I might damage the cover clips if I try to do anything now. I will be using your method for next year! The valves on the pump and...

    Well, something went wrong

We don't have an aquadoor. We have a metal plate that screws onto the frame for the skimmer on the inside of the pool. It's like this: Hydrotools Stainless Steel Standard Skimmer Winter Plate The ice started at the bottom. The bottom of the skimmer was visible yesterday. Thanks for your...

    Well, something went wrong

I thought our closing went so much better this year after using a radiant cover. It goes on so much better than the type with the wire, can easily be managed by two people and doesn't blow off. I think we were so impressed by the cover install that we missed something. We drained the pool below...

    Need plans for deck

Have you looked at these? http://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/books-building-plans/deck-plans/pool-decks/c-9660.htm Our 24'x16' deck has 12 10"x4' concrete piers. Might be overkill, but it's not going anywhere. The 3' landing outside our slide is on piers and keeps sinking.
