A Houston Pool Build Inside the Loop

The pool was drained when I got home last night. Also, coping started today and they will be back tomorrow. It looks like they are doing some good work. One guy was constantly taking a tile out, brushing the area and then placing it back before setting it. Will try to get pics tomorrow.

How exciting!!! I can't wait to see pictures!!

Marla, I am SO sorry I did not see your question about the sub pump until just now (Saturday morning) :( Yes you can get them at HD or Lowes. In fact you can rent them from HD if ever needed.

NICE on the coping and the care they are using! I can't wait to see the pictures! That is a big step!

Sorry for the delay. Had a baby shower at the house for my DIL. The tilers were also out working so everyone wanted to look at the pool!

Here is the 1x2 split faced travertine on the firepit.

Coping miter joint

This was another corner piece but I told them I didn't like it, so they redid it and it looks like the other one.

Oh Marla! That is SO pretty! ahhhhhhhhh happiness here!

I can see why you had them redo that place. With the corner chipped like that and the wider joint it needed to be redone.

It is really happening! LOVE it all!

Thanks y'all! Yes it really is coming together! It's amazing how it just plods along for so long and then all of a sudden things start happening again! I can hopefully get a pic of the tile in the sun tomorrow. It was interesting to watch them work. Yesterday the applied something to the gunite, which I'm guessing was waterproofing, and then today they used a white mortar to set the tile. They also pulled off one section (I had seen it with tile and then it wasn't there, but you could see the intentions!) and redid it. I will also take pics of the circular pieces and the caps. I think they did good work.

Our PB told us the tilers will show us grout samples for the glass tile so I am guessing that might happen on Monday. The bond beam wall will also have the silver travertine but it will be smooth. Those pieces have been ordered and will be here next week I believe. I don't think the step markers have been done yet either.

Again sorry for the delay in pics. Our first grandchild, a girl, is due in April, so this baby shower kinda took over the day.
