Hello from an excited Newbie in Bixby Oklahoma!!

Get a headlamp...I'd have to be out there after my shift to check it all out! Seriously, I wear a headlamp often on outside nighttime tasks. $10 bucks at Lowe's!

My husband would just love that! I can take a flashlight out with me. I just won't be able to get good pictures. Hubby said he'd take some and send them to me at work.

It was put in on my build. In my case the ground was softer than they wanted at the deep end so they brought in gravel. Told me before signing contract that it might be necessary.

I don't know if gravel is standard with these guys, but this company prides itself on doing premium quality work. So far, so good!

Here's pictures I took this morning with gravel in place, and some of the surrounding yard. Neat and tidy so far, although construction mess does not bother me in the slightest. We dealt with it in our last home that we redid while living in it, and again when we built our current home.

Plus I wear one just to look like a weirdo for my neighbors.

Sounds like a great fashion statement! With the back of our fence open, the folks in the assisted living center get a full view into the goings on in the yard. I might get one just to give them something interesting to watch!

I'm sorry! I thought you meant the gravel. Now I realize you meant the flashing. Yes, it's in our contract as well. They will charge us extra for it.

I successfully averted a disaster!

Got a text from PB telling me that rebar is next and happening TOMORROW. Well....I work tomorrow, so that doesn't work for me. I reminded him that he had agreed work would be done Monday-Thursday and to please reschedule it so that I can be there to make sure my steps and spa seat height are the way I want them. I don't think he was real happy since the response I received was "k". Oh well, my pool, my money, my way....

Good for you Denise! Your oversight will pay off in the end. Even if it turns out to be only for your peace of mind, it will be worth it.

I just can't take the chance that they make my stairs 12" high instead of the 7ish inches I said yesterday. It's not in the plans since it's a last minute change.

That looks like a top notch dig/framing job! Very precise!!

Yes! I was really impressed with their work. They worked on getting 3/8th inch worked out for a 1/2hr.

project's looking good!

Thanks, Helen!
I am having some stomach-turning anxiety over my decision to do a negative edge on the spa with glass tile vs doing a waterfall edge with flagstone, (esthetically I prefer the flagstone) but I think "wear-wise" the glass will hold up better even if it's more work to scrub with a pumice stone. I just hope it looks nice. I keep wondering if I should change it to the flagstone....

I think all that tile will be beautiful! Maybe do a combination of some sort that would give you the flagstone look you like on the back side but the easier to care for negative edge on the front? Not exactly like this but...

Just throwing out ideas but I think it will be beautiful as you have it too!!
