A Houston Pool Build Inside the Loop

Thanks Wendy! It's bigger than what we thought it would be but so far we are happy with it! My only regret is losing the pecan tree. But I have 2 pieces of it drying in the garage so I can make some outdoor tables. I so understand now when people talk about the dirt! So ready to be over that mess!

The pool is looking awesome!!! I can't wait to see it finished.

I have found most of my inspections where really lax. I wasn't there for plumbing but the electric inspector came nonchalantly into my yard while I was back there with the PB. He was on the phone and no one knew who he was and he didn't ever introduce himself. Finally in the "What the heck is this random guy doing in my backyard I went up and asked him who he was. He was there maybe 3 minutes and just jiggled some wires and looked around.

The final building inspector was super nice and realized I was trying to satisfy the code so he didn't look around much except probably for basic things most people don't pass on.

Thanks Umm! The plumbing inspection was more about the gas line to the fire pit and heater. We discovered that the old line from the meter to the house was really looking bad and talked about replacing it since the trench was already there and not wanting to dig up pavers in the future but were not ready to tear out the deck just yet ($$$). We talked with the plumber about doing just a partial replacement so when we rip out the deck we could add the additional piece to the line. But that still would have meant a whole house pressurization to check for leaks (city code). In the end, we ran the yellow flex line in the trench but didn't connect it to the meter. Plumber told us where the ends are buried. And yes, he capped the ends!

It was too dark to take pics outside when I got home.

Also, I think Umm would be a good judge of what would go well with the Smurf.
