Hello TFP! I've been scouring this forum and have really been inspired and educated by the members here--thank you!
We have had two seasons with a 12x30 summer escapes ring pool, but our kids are growing fast and so we are moving up to an 18x48 pool. I'll attached pics to share the progress. Please chime in with any suggestions for us!
Marked out an 18' diameter and 20' diameter circle using a piece of rebar as a center post, measuring out 9' with a string and walking in a circle around the rebar with spray paint on the grass. Repeated with a 10' mark on the string. Worked perfectly and took mere minutes.

Then, using an edging spade, when around the entire edge slicing through the grass. I also used the spade to cute narrow pizza shaped slices in toward the center of the circle. This helped getting the grass out.

Out comes the shovel and wheel barrow. Nothing but physical labor here. But progress was steady and encouraging.
