To test the board get a 10K resistor and put it in place of the temperature sensor. It should read 76F. If it doesn't or drifts over time then you have a bad board.

Some members have had good experiences with BP Engineering, Inc. repairing their Jandy boards.

They can be contacted at bpengineering "at" sbcglobal "dot" net

I put mine on and it was 79 degrees. Just a couple off. Would you say it is a bad boatd?

Welcome to TFP.

If it is stable you can adjust the temperature +/- 4F.

Check that the temperature is not offset.

Go to MENU>SYSTEM SETUP>TEMP CALIBRATE. This should allow you to calibrate +/- 4 degrees.

I believe that only the water temperature sensor can be calibrated. I don't believe the solar or air temp sensors can be calibrated.

Large air temp sensor errors are usually due to a poor mounting position, which is often just hanging below the control box. The sensor often gets exposed to sunlight, or if the control box is near the pool equipment the heat from the equipment may increase the readings. A couple degrees off with the 10k resistor isn't too bad, I think the nominal is around 77 degrees (25 C). Your 10k resistor is probably +/-5% tolerance so this could give you a reading between 75 and 79 degrees even if the RS8 calibration was right on.
