Water is still cloudy after multiple treatments

How large is the pool? In my pool that’s 27k gallons that would reduce my pH by 1.6! And my TA by 28ppm. That’s a huge amount of acid to in addition to dry acid being corrosive to your salt water chlorinator (which likely has a warning not to use dry acid in the pool). Was the pH over 9.0?

The other issue is the liquid CYA stabilizer. It’s the most expensive version of stabilizer out there. The granular stuff is way cheaper and does just as well.
Woof....lesson learned i guess.

But dont feel too bad, most of us listened to the folks who had no business doling advice. We were all there once, and its why we got you now. Because it sucked and we never forgot that helpless feeling.

Yes - get several gallons and be prepared to aquire more once you begin the slam process.
Read through this link
SLAM Process - there’s a checklist you can print or save
Thanks. Not sure how long it will take the test kit to arrive. So, should I be adding some "maintenance" liquid chlorine daily so it doesn't get worse? Gunna pick some up tomorrow.

In summary for me-27500 gallon pool
1. Follow this site and recommendations exclusively.
2. Do all the tests with Taylor kit-you ordered right one
3. Pool math calculator fill in every time you test and watch out as some places reset every time you use it.
4. Full test initially -CYA, pH and chlorine initially
5. Start SLAM with liquid chlorine only. I always use 20-30 gallons. Test 2-3 times a day FC and CC to keep FC at SLAM levels.
6. Keep SLAMing until meet all criteria and for me another day or so after OCLT. 9 days to complete for me!
7. PATIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Test 2-3 times a day FC
It really helps at first to hit it up to 2 hours each round. They start holding longer and longer and you increase the duration as it plays out.

Or life is in the way that day and the process takes a bit longer. When I had my swamp, the realtor was coming in 4 days to take pictures to sell the house. I didnt leave the backyard because it was super high on the priority list at that time. :ROFLMAO:

Holy cow….16# of dry acid in that pool runs PH down by 2.4 assuming the 140 Alk measurement is correct. The heat exchanger in your heater will not enjoy a PH in the 6’s or less. You’re in good hands now, stay the course and hope no long term damage has been done by the pool store.

Please let us know what test kit you have and please don’t acid bomb your pool with 10# of dry acid.
Do all the tests yourself & report the results like this
Fc
Cc
Ph
Ta
Ch
Cya
Salt
Borates
You need the proper test kit
Test Kits Compared
to properly perform the SLAM Process & clear your pool up as it requires testing some parameters multiple times per day.
We can help you but we need accurate data.
If you don’t have one of the recommended kits (tf100/pro or Taylor k2006 c)
Simply add 5ppm worth of LIQUID CHLORINE each day slowly infront of a running return to keep things from getting worse until you get a kit & can proceed with SLAM.
Is there a test with this test kit that I can do to start the slam process today? I have no idea how long it will take for the new test kit to show up.1000007491.jpg
