Today I discovered my pump making a loud noise that concerns me. Wondering if the bearings are going bad or something. I’ve included a recording and am hoping someone can provide insight on what may be going on. Thanks!
Its your motor bearings. Sometimes you never see water, but the shaft seal has been leaking a long time to hear that much noise. It probably started much quieter but they always get that loud, and the noise should never be ignored it heard.
Yes, water leaking. That's what caused that "white" corrosion at the front of the motor. It was leaking to the interior of the motor and not dripping to the outside. That white residue is always a leaking seal.
Mine sounds the same way. Pool company coming out next week to decide what the problem is. I'll let you know what they find out, but to me both yours and mine sound like the motor.
