Ok let's start over from scratch.

Over the weekend I added like 15 lbs of CYA bc I SWEAR that’s what pool math said I needed. But now I’m second guessing that’s what it said.Ok let's start over from scratch.![]()

That’sa great idea. But will have to wait until after I go to a booster club meeting. I will try again around 8 o’clock.Ok 15lbs jacked you 60+ CYA, which factoring the original 30+ could easily be 100 now. It was probably suggesting you target the mid season 70 CYA for your SWG, not knowing we were slamming and it would greatly raise your slam target.

Mix up a batch of 50/50 pool and tap water. Use that as your 'sample'. Proceed with the rest of the CYA test as normal and double the result. We need to confirm it's really near 100 before proceeding.
You need overhead sun. It'll have to wait until tomorrow.will try again around 8 o’clock.
I done told you already.Y’ALL ARE SAINTS FOR HELPING ME WITH THIS.
We were all there once. And it sucked.
Alot.
We got you![]()
Go into the upper left menu of poolmath and select effects of adding and scroll down to dry stabilizer. This exercise is great to know for all future wonderings. Mess around while you're there and get familiar with it.So I don’t know how much 15 pounds of CYA would raise my levels from zero,
Looks like you need to drain a little over half the water. Ignore the pH test with chlorine that high.Ok - I calmed down a little....retested this morning - it is pretty cloudy/overcast here - but I'm confident my CYA is still wildly over 100.
I tested with pure pool water and then 50/50 and got somewhere between 160-180.
SOooooo - I assume I need to drain and refill....?
These are my numbers from this morning:
FC: 27.5 ( i figured I should keep the FC up to combat algae since it seems to be gone at this point)
pH: 6.8
TA: 40
CYA: 160'ish....
Diluted result 160-180, correct ? You'll need to drain at least 60% because it's an even % to reduce it with 0 CYA fill water. Draining half lowers CYA by half, etc.and then 50/50 and got somewhere between 160-180.
Will do this tomorrowLooks like you need to drain a little over half the water. Ignore the pH test with chlorine that high.
There is no algae. When your FC is > 10, the pH test is invalid. Leave the pH alone.
If you have visible algae, follow the SLAM process. Link-->SLAM Process
