Hayward PSV3S2 3-way diverter valve - I am replacing the O rings - PSXVZ2A - lube or no lube on the new rings?

I used to put lube on my pump cover when cleaning - my pool guy said not to bother - cleaning it with water works just fine for that one. I see one YouTube video about PSV valves where a guy has little lube on the o rings, but don't know if it is a good thing or not a good thing to do.
Tnx,

Use silicone lubricant like Magic Lube II. Don't use teflon/ptfe based lubricant.

Use the same on o-rings on the pump (lid and drains).

Good to go!

The "lube" does more that allow the parts to move freely or "settle" when two parts are being tightened. The grease also protects the material from the pool water, which is actually pretty nasty stuff. All that has to be applied is enough to make the ring shiny.
