Hello
Besides the habitual cleaning of the basket, are there any routine maintenance steps for this cleaner?
I read that it's good to rinse the basket space with fresh water, but is there anything else to help preserve it??

Thanks

There is not much maintenance with these units.

The brushes can wear down and should be replaced when needed.
The tracks can also stretch and should be replace when needed.
The impellor can get "junk" caught and should be inspected periodically. See page 9 in the manual: (ignore the Basic 13, it is the same unit.)

thank you Pool that is stored

Is there some indication that something might be stuck in the impeller? Poor suction and blowing up of water?
I don't want to take it apart in vain, not that it's overly difficult.

The robot will not complete the startup phase when you turn it on.
well, perhaps I will get to do this right now.

The robot just finished a normal 2 hour cycle, and I wanted it to go again. So, I powered it off, back on, and press the 1 button.
I see that the blue light in the back comes on briefly, and then turns off and the robot doesn't move.

Does that mean it failed the startup phase, and thus it's time to clean that impeller?

If it just ran a cycle without issue, then not likely the impeller. However, cleaning the impellor is not hard, might do it anyway.

I would UNPLUG the controller for a couple minutes, then try it again.

Thanks PS
I left it unplugged and cleaned the impeller.
I put it back in the water, and it does nothing.
What can I start troubleshooting before calling Marina Pool & Spa, if anything?

I do not see the usual blue light that came on when turning it on.

Call Marina. With clean impellor and a cleared controller, it should start appropriately.

I'm surprised it worked for a cycle and died.

I check the impeller every time I empty the basket; you can see down from the top. I also reach my fingers in from the inside of the unit to just under the impeller (where the basket was). I can usually pull out minor debris and feel whether it's clear. BE CAREFUL, THE BLADES CAN BE SHARP!

If needed I unscrew the top and clear it the right way (I bought a cheap screwdriver to keep out by the pool to combat the "have to walk all the way to the garage" procrastination).

The impeller is clean, but now it won't power on after plugging in the controller and pressing the cycle 1 button.
I am out of warranty, and Marina sent me videos to check the voltage of the controller and blue cable; I will do that tomorrow.

In doing several attempts of: unplugging, repowering and starting, the blue light in the back blinks 3 times, and the robot does nothing. In 2 of those attempts, the robot came to life, blew water from the top, moved a foot or so, and then stopped completely. The tracks are clean and there aren't any obstacles inside from what I can see. I checked the pins in the swivel assembly, and they look perfectly golden-colored and fine.

I will test the voltage tomorrow, and will probably have to get an out-of-warranty repair by Maytronics, which will be expensive, I assume.

I will report after tomorrow's voltage tests, but I ask if there's anything else that I can check before I get the eventual repair invoice from Maytronics.

thank you

Good morning
Thanks to instructions and videos sent by Marina, I tested a good DC voltage at the end of the blue cable.
The inside and impeller are clean of any debris, and it looks new.

After careful reassembly, I rolled the unit on its back and turned it on, but nothing happened - no tracks turned, and the blue lights didn't even come on. :(.

Therefore, I assume that I will have to ship it to Maytronics for repair after only owning it for 2 years. And the warranty expired in April....

And so
Maytronics suggested that I visit a local Pinch a Penny that repairs, and that would save me the shipping and wait. Sending it to Maytronics in GA, would have cost me $40 shipping + $65 diagnostic fee + and $35 return shipping + the cost of parts.

I took it to said store, and in an hour I had a new motor put in. The old one water in the motor assembly. Despite the upper seal being intact, water was visible inside, and a dissecant packet was soaked. The replacement cost $550 and includes a 1 year warranty.

Marina Pool thinks that the water entered through the side hole of the motor assembly, where a gear sticks out and not through the tightly-sealed top cover. I plan to ask Maytronics if they'd be willing to reimburse me somehow since that's a factory defect, but I doubt it since the warranty expired in April.

Yes, I could have bought an oem motor on Amazon for about $100 less, but I didn't truly know what the problem was.

Please learn from me.
