Can't Find Leak

18x36 in-ground, vinyl liner pool with one Aqua Genie skimmer/return, two return jets on steps, and Pentair pool sweep. Pool only leaks when pump is running, water loss is fairly significant 1-2 inches per day. I've had lines pressure tested and all gaskets/junctions dye tested, with no leaks detected with either.

I don't know where else to look and need some help. Are there any areas within the Aqua Genie that could be leaking, but still pass pressure test? Anything I could be missing?

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Have you walked the areas around the pool and looked for any soft or wet spots? Its been really dry around here so it would probably be noticeable, not sure about your area.
Here’s the step by step guide for narrowing things down

Yes. There is a slope beyond my pool that has a persistent wet spot and I can actually see water bubbling up when the pump runs, which is how I know the leak is only when the pump is running.

I did a search for all Aqua Genie related issues on the forum and none had any information on my issue.

This is not always as straight forward as it seems. Look at Post #32 in my thread below. Even with initial pressure testing and listening with deck plate mics it wasn't obvious. It took dye and a mirror to catch that crack which was in the jet threads at about the 12 o'clock position. Depending on how a pressure plug us inserted, it's easy to overlook. Hopefully that's not your issue, but just in case.

Pretty sure it's somewhere within the pressure chamber section of the Aqua Genie (see link). I cut off the return line to the AG and aforementioned bubbling stops. Just not sure why a crack inside the return/return line wouldn't fail a pressure test.

I’m not super familiar with the operation of these - are you able to cap that while still operating the pool to isolate the plumbing from that?

& Not related but…
are you a delta state fan?

I fear without actually capping/plugging the line from within the skimmer it will continue to leak (albeit at a slower rate).
If you can abandon this return line without it affecting overall pool operation that would be the simplest solution.

Delta State is just down the road from us (about an hour) and alot of graduates from here go there. Not everyday you see an okra in the wild on a large forum like this 😊
