Old pool, new homeowner. System has an off-line chlorinator that is pretty trashed and full of that yellow stearic acid residue that I want to get rid of. I’m not really tempted to pickup the old owner’s PB. That being said algae is starting to creep in and I’m having to do a major water change since I inherited CYA > ~140 and TC > 750. It would take a tanker of bleach to keep enough FC in the water right now.

Looking for recommendations on makes/models of SWG to install. I live in deep south Texas, next to Mexico. Our latitude and sun exposure is about like Key West. I had thought I could get by with a generator that’s rated 2x for my pool (17k so around 40k gal SWG) , but would it make sense to buy a 60k for more longevity?

Saltwaterpool.com has their in house brand. Is there anything wrong with that? I have nothing against Pentair, but I’m thinking a SWG is a pretty basic device and I just need it to work. Somebody lurking on here has to have a pretty good idea of what to buy and what to stay away from…

Welcome to the forum.
With a single speed pump you want the largest rated SWCG you can buy. I would suggest you research the Circupool RJ60+.

I cannot find an online vendor with the name you mentioned.

I even looked up the address while I wrote the post and then forgot to change it.

You prefer the RJ over the newer edge series?

+100 for the RJ series. I bought it for the reputation and the ability to adjust the output in 5% increments. RJ is a beast.
