We are just getting ready for final plaster of our new pool. We are owner builders and it's our first pool. For the initial 30 days after filling the pool Pentair says not to use the salt chlorine generator. My question is in regards to cya levels. For a salt pool TFP info says cya should be higher than for non salt. So for the initial 30 days prior to firing up the swcg should we have a lower level of cya while adding liquid chlorine and then increase to the higher level of cya in a month? Thanks

Traditional, after 72 hours, add sanitizer in small amounts at first until the desired level is obtained.
Acid startup, after pH has risen to 7.2, add sanitizer in small amounts at first until the desired level is obtained.
Bicarb, upon startup, add sanitizer in small amounts at first until the desired level is obtained.

Yes. 30-60 would be fine.
Not sure on startup type. I'll have to decide. If you were in my shoes would you do the acid startup or traditional?

TFP guidelines do not apply during the 30 day start-up period.
You follow the CYA and other chemical recommendations of the start-up guide and procedure you are following.
Tell me or show me what you think the acid startup or traditional is.
You did not say what type of finish is being applied. In general you should follow the manufacturers start-up process if they provide one.
The bicarb start-up is one of the best processes but can be a bit more complex then manufacturers recommendations.
