I have 3 Pentair Globrite lights in our pool. I will be replacing these lights for the 2nd time in 8 years and I am curious if anyone knows of a different manufacturer that has a light that will fit the Globrite niche? When we installed them originally they were $350 for all three lights, now they over $400 each. I don't mind paying the price, but these just don't last.

Welcome to TFP.

In 2024 Pentair released an improved GloBrite light that a blue gasket and black end cap (left side), with improvements to the electronics inside to fix the failures the lights have been having.

The issue with the original Globrites was two different types of material was used in manufacturing, the body and the end where the wire went into the light were different so when the lights were on it generated heat and the seal was broke filling the light with water which resulted in cracking the housing.

A member who is a pool contractor and does Pentair warranty replacements reports that he is replacing failed GloBrite lights with Jandy Hydrocool P-series lights.

They fit the GloBrite niche and work with Pentair automation using the IntelliBrite color scheme. The lights are better built and slightly brighter. They thread right into the niche via small threads in the niche.

The light comes with its own tool for installation and comes with several color snap on face rings to match your current light face colors as well as half covered lenses for directing light up or down.

Thank you! Do you know if this new model is now the MicroBrite or are they different models?

I'm installing the Jandy HydroCool lights into my baja shelf this weekend. The model is JLU4C12W100. I've already started designing my own LED light to replace these when they inevitably fail.
