Took over pool maintenance about 6 months ago. Has been going great until recently. Noticed the pool had a slight green tinge. Chlorine was down to 2.5. I normally have to change the swg every couple weeks between 10% and 20%. 10 causes a slight drop and 20 raises the chlorine.

I spoke to pinch a penny and they recommended dumping 1 gallon of bleach in along with raising SWG. Chlorine got up to 18 after dumping bleach in yesterday.

See attached photos of test results and the pool.

I cleaned the filter today and while hosing it out it was very greenish. I threw in the vacuum today and it almost seemed like pollin on the bottom. Now it looks even worse, maybe all stirred up.

The picture with robot in pool are from after cleaning filter and running robot. It looks worse. …

Thanks for any help to get my pool clear.

What are you using to test your water?
Almost has a copper tinge. What products have you added in the last 6 months?

I’m using the trouble free pool test kit.

I’ve only added muriatic acid, about 1 cup per week.

After going to pinch a penny they had me add 1 gallon of chlorine and 4 lbs of stabilizer which I added on Saturday.

Whatever it was seemed to get stirred up when I put the robot in. I felt I could actually see lines from where the robot went when it started cleaning. I guess the particulate was too fine for it to catch and just stirred it up.

Do I need to increase the flow of the pump during the slam process?

I’m currently at 50% and 35 gallons per minute
