In the process of setting it up. I am new to owning a pool and want saltwater. I have no clue on how to start a saltwater pool. Do any of you experts on saltwater pool startup have any advice or where I can find information on this process? Don't want to even ask anyone where we purchased our pool because unfortunately they aren't very knowledgeable.

Looking for 100% CYA. It doesn't seem easy to find 100%. I would like to use liquid but it all says 98% with 2% inactive ingredients. Not sure it makes a difference but we are starting up a saltwater pool. Has anyone ever tried this stabilizer?

First time Pool owner here. Pool is now set up and it took us 4 days! UGH! Finished filling last night. Do I test the water now since nothing has been added or do I add salt first, run all test after recommended salt has been added and then start adding other things according to the pool math calculator?

My experience lies with inground pools, but chlorine and ph are the most important pieces of balancing water.
Based on your photo, you don't have plaster so likely don't need to wait 30 days before adding salt.

Fill water won't have CYA in it, which works in conjunction.
Post test kit results here and work on getting pH, chlorine, and cya in range.
You also need to know your current salt level before adding more.

I'm sorry. Not sure what oh is. So I need to test my water before adding anything and then go from there?

add CYA to your desired level. Going with a SWCG you want at least 60ppm added using the sock method. Add liquid chlorine to immediately raise your FC level to 4-9ppm but closer to 9.

FC/CYA Levels

Now add the salt. You’ll use the SWCG to maintain your FC level.

Very helpful!! Thank you! Can I just use regular bleach from the store as long as it is not scented or splashless bleach?
