Hello! New to pool owning & TFP. Here are my levels. My pool is slightly cloudy. Pool math is saying to lower PH and then use acid to lower TA and aerate to bring PH back up. Not sure how to aerate.

FC- 10
C 0
CH- 250
TA- 110
PH- 8?
CYA- 50

Also, just to clarify i should be using ONLY Liquid chlorine. Not tablets at all

Per the block test, or the powder test ?

Disregard TA, it's close enough. Lower the PH 0.4 at a time to 7.2 with muriatic acid per PoolMath.

Aerating is just running the returns making surface movement. The Ph will rise on it own when the pump is on.

Once the Ph is 7.2(or ish), SLAM Process.

Correct. Tabs add CYA which also raised your FC targets.

FC 10 is per the powder test.
Ok great. The block test isn't specific, or accurate.
Why am i doing a slam? Because the water is slightly cloudy or because of something my levels indicate ?
Cloudy water is a one way ticket to SLAMville. If you'd like to split hairs, you can Overnight Chlorine Loss Test first, but with 10 FC you're most of the way there anyway. Splurge with that 1/4 gallon of bleach. :ROFLMAO:

Rain is inconsequential so long as you won't be hit with lightning.

Ok, I’m gonna re read the slam page tonight and will comment if i have questions and i guess stock up on liquid chlorine!!!! I have low n slo, can i use this to lower ph ?

Lower pH in .4 increments until you are 7.2-7.5. Use pool math for amount of Muriatic needed. Test after 30 minutes.

Overview, click the reading you want to change. Ph for ph.

Just to confirm, once i had reccomended chlorine from pool math - do i want to retest to confirm It got high enough?
It's probably a good idea for the first dose, just to confirm the rest of them should hit the target too.

If you have a heavy area of debris that you can send to waste, you'll save the eventual filter cleaning with that much less gunk in the filter. But it's half a dozen or six if it goes to waste now, or when you backwash the filter.
