Where do you get regular bleach?

Where do you get just plain bleach? Everything I can find is HE, scented, outdoor. The one I just had said it was fine for both HE and regular washers, but when I added it to my tub there was a bunch of bubbles, so I am assuming that is not correct.
 
Walmart pool essentials in the pool section. It's 10% for $5.67. Check the date code, it'll say 24XXX where XXX is the day of the year it was made. Using simple napkin math, we are about 7 full months into the year so today would be day 210, or 24-210 A handful of days off is no biggie. You want 3 months or less old. Sometimes you need to dig into the display for the fresh ones.

*edit, just googled it for funsies. Today is day 206. Not bad for a quick multiply X 30 days.

My local pool shop has a huge cylindrical container of Chlorine and refillable jugs. The price is about the same as the big box stores.

But the best answer to this question is get a SWCG and you won't have to worry about lugging chlorine.

There are places like Pinch A Penny in the south that do this. In the upper midwest, the best price is menards if you have one, then walmart.

You can search for local powerwash supply houses, they have larger and refillable jugs.
 
A salt water chlorine generator will use salt that you add to the pool - not noticeable in taste - that the salt cell will use to create chlorine for maintenance of the free chlorine. The salt cell can't add large amounts of chlorine as it's just to maintain your FC levels. They are pricey but will, over time, make your chlorine expense cheaper than using liquid.

And it vastly reduces the amount of maintenance that you have to do on your pool. Once your pool is set for the season in terms of CYA, etc then you may just need to add some acid from to time to reduce pH. No lugging of Chlorine. No splashback from the chlorine that bleaches your clothes.

Same for hot tubs? because that's all I have.
 
I put in a Jacuzzi spa and a pool about 17 years ago. My pool had a SWCG from day one. The spa used a bromine dispenser which I hated compared to my pool. About four years ago I bought a SmarterSpa Controlomatic as a SWCG for my spa and I love it.
