I checked earlier when cooling down after work and I was low too. So either we both have leaks at the same time, out of the blue, (the chance is never zero), or the windy warm dry weather has got us both evaporating above normal here.

How do i make one of the answers a favorite so that if i need to reread it i can find it quickly
Make sure you have notifications on. The bell will light up as well. See picture attached. Bookmark many pages. I have "new content" and then many other TFP links bookmarked as favorites such as testing and effects of adding so when I need them I have them. Also the app has some of the custom info once you put in your pool size and equipment in regards to effects of adding

The third symbol ^^^ here is a bookmark. Click on that symbol above the answer you want to save.
You can put a message and label on the bookmark. Then SAVE.
On a PC, you click in the upper right on your name.
Then click on the bookmark symbol above your name:
If you are on mobile, click the three lines on the upper left, click the little person, then click bookmarks.
I used the method where i clicked on the 3rd symbol and highlighted the bookmark and all it did was change that symbol to a greenish color?? I just want to be able to find important replies quickly
I would make it as easy as possible and bookmark them in your web browser.I just want to be able to find important replies quickly
When you return to TFP and there are alerts that you have replies, each alert will take you to that specific post. Bookmark it into your browser if you're particularly fond of the reply.
You can then create folders of TFP bookmarks. Say, a master TFP folder so it doesn't clog up your regular bookmarks, then break it down into PH, heaters, solar cover ideas, etc etc.
Just spent one hour of cardio in my pool all by myself. Mostly jumping or running in place then running around pool and changing directions to go against the flow of water. Pool beautiful and peaceful. Thank u all for giving me the knowledge and ability to soldier on and enjoy. You all r special people
Thank u as always. Came home today after being away 3 days and adding to slam in sunday night. Tested tonight and fc is at 9. Perfect. Will remove solar cover in morning and brush and vacuum. Thank u again for the correct suggestion
As mentioned i came back from vaca and pool looks and tested great after i slammed it before leaving. Just want to say again that u have taught me well and that i feel u have made me a really good pool care person. See picture for yourself after i just brushed and vacuumed the pool. It is spotless and looks great

Hi guys and gals. I just tested and my fc is only 5.5. I will raise tonight. But my TA is only 60 now. I want to raise it to 70. I guess pool math said baking soda which i have plenty of. But my pH is only about 7.4 and pool math says ph UP or soda ash or borax. I only have a very small amount of soda ash. What do u recommend as the items to use and the amounts if different from pool math. Love to hear from u people before i add. Thank u
No need. Leave it alone. If it hits 50, then use baking soda, but a 60 TA will help keep the Ph where you don't need to touch it. I have yet to touch my Ph this season with a TA of 60. I don't expect to need to touch the Ph for the back half of the season either.
Ok for the TA. But the pH was really almost amber on the color chart. Like between 7.2 and 7.4. You dont think i need to add a little bit of soda ash? I might just have enuf (7.4 oz)?? If no thats ok but for the future if ido need to increase the ph what is the best item to use…. Soda ash or borax??

All 7s are equally Ok with vinyl. Nope.
Borax is the preferred method to raise PH, baking soda is the preferred method to raise TA.
good evening all. I have a question about pool structure on my pool. I will attach pics. When i climb out of pool or remove the solar cover i kind of pull these tops off a bit or something. Does anyone know how to clamp them down tighter. They are ok but if u look clearly u can see the difference from one that is tight and the other that is up a bit. Thank u. Those are just caps meant to protect the bolts and connections underneath. They warp in the UV over time or flex with the wall. It should be fine.
Thank u again. Next problem. I dont know how but i just went to test the fc and it seems unbelievable but i lost the little white “t” shaped piece that stirs the liquid in the tube. Can i buy just that piece. I tried putting very small pebbles but it did not work. Any other ideas or can i buy that piece alone and what is it called?
I see online what is called the magnetic stir bar magnetic stirrer. But the picture shows it as a straight piece. What i had was shaped like a cross. Is this straight one ok if i cannot find the other one. Why did the shape change?? Not sure why what i tried did not spin? Does it need to b magnetic snd if so how about the back of a fridge magnet. Those round disks??? Or am i being silly?
