We have/had an intex strainer connector with the grid on it. It connects to our surface skimmer. Last year we ordered a replacement for it as hubby intended to cut the grid out to stop small leaf particles from clogging up the works and reducing the suction on the surface skimmer. The piece that came with the pool is discontinued so we received a strainer connector without the grid which was great however the thread does not match that of the surface skimmer, I tried ordering a new Intex Surface skimmer small strainer hose b adaptor thinking maybe it would be a newer model and would match the strainer connector they sent, no luck! Would appreciate any advice out there.

Could you post a couple pics of the current set-up and any parts you have/had to replace? A visual might help in this case.
Ok, top picture is the new strainer connector that we were sent because the original one that came with the pool is discontinued, it has 4 threads and does not match the blue connector from the surface skimmer. The 2nd picture is the old strainer connector that we cut the grid out of it has five threads and fits the surface skimmer connector as it should. We’re hoping that the original strainer connector with the grids cut out will work and be no worries, but if we have to replace it we’re not sure what to order that will fit the thing from the surface skimmer.
